Scrapbook Throwdown Week 3 Recipes

Hi! Raechelle here with the appetizer and main course for this week's throwdown challenge. I used my kit, the lovely Cosmo Cricket Evangeline, to create both of my projects for this challenge. You can find them here in the Memorable Seasons store as well as many other wonderful new products from your favorite manufacturer.

Let's begin with the appetizer; chips and salsa:

the "bowl"; stitching or some type of a border to "hold" the salsa
the chips; a sentiment sticker or phrase
and the salsa; a mixture of smallish embellies

my card:

and for my main course this week I selected Chicken Fajitas;

chicken/pepper/onion strips= twine or ribbon AND a banner with at least 3 different patterned papers or colors
fajita= circle(s)
dallops of sour cream= ink or paint splatter

my layout:

Just a reminder that your card must be newly created for this challenge and be posted by Wednesday, April 4th, to have your name in for the weekly drawing.
Head on over the to the forum and this section for my challenges as well as past and upcoming. I do hope you'll join us.

Scrapbook Throwdown Week 2 Challenges

It's week 2 of our Scrapbook Throwdown and it's my turn to offer up a few recipe challenges. So here they are:
1 - Since the tray is round I want you to use a large circle on your card
2 - Since we all have to eat some of that tasty dip use white or cream as your base
3 - Choose at least 2 "veggies" from the tray to add.
*crinkle cut carrots: use chevron or ric rack design somewhere
*celery: hand cut work
*olives: bling
*broccoli: texture
*radishes: a pop of red
*cucumbers: ribbon
*peppers: 3 pp's (since our veggie tray usually has red, green and yellow peppers in it)

And here is my card for it using my March DT kit October Afternoon Sasparilla:

Now onto the Entree Challenge:

Who doesn't love lasagna?
So with this yummy entree in mind I want to see you follow this recipe for lasagna:
1. Noodles have wavy edge so I'd like to see at least 3 different treatment/punches on your paper edges
2. Lasagna is created by making layers. Use at least 3 layers on your layout
3. Looking at the photo above, you'll notice that there are 3 main colors in lasagna(red, cream, brown) so your layout must consist of only 3 colors, though they can be any 3 colors you'd like. You may add one neutral but for the most part just stick to 3 colors.

Now like any recipe you may add any additional items you'd like to your "lasagna" but the above 3 elements must be present.

And here is my layout using my March DT Kit:

You will have until Wednesday March 28th to post your projects. If you complete both of them by then your name will go into a weekly drawing for a prize from Jill. So you still have plenty of time to play along!

Hello March and REVEAL day

Good morning ladies and Hello to the month of March-WOW how time flies!

So this month our reveal day is kinda short.  Why you ask---well we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of some of the new goodies for the store.  And Jill and Emmalie always want the DT to have the newest product out there to work with.  So becuz I have a big event going on in my life-I had to go ahead and work with some stuff we already had on hand.  And boy did I luck out,  LOOK at what I received
Its some awesome MME Kraft Everyday pps, mixed with some red cardstock-YUMMY!   So here are two things I wanna share with you today- first up is a layout I did about my son--I used a sketch from pagemaps

And next is a little card I created--I just love making these rolled flowers--thank heaven for glubers-LOL!

So there you go girls--I will have more to debut thru the month but I am saving them for a contest we are having later.

Also stay tuned as a little birdie told me that the other DT girls got their new stuff to work with and it's REALLY good!  As they get done I am oh soo sure they will be happy to share with you!

Thanks for looking,
toodles,
Tami
